Aramco completes its 49% stake in HUMAIN

Aramco has completed its purchase of a 49% stake in HUMAIN, Saudi Arabia's national AI company, according to a report on 1 November 2026. The Public Investment Fund (PIF) keeps the other 51%.

What was announced

  • Aramco holds the stake through a subsidiary.
  • The deal includes about SAR 9.9bn (USD 2.6bn) in cash during 2026, plus AI, computing and digital assets from Aramco.
  • HUMAIN plans to deploy 3GW of data centre capacity by 2030.
  • A non-binding term sheet was signed on 28 October 2025.

Our take

With Aramco as a shareholder, HUMAIN has one of the world's largest industrial companies close at hand as a user. Expect more AI aimed at energy and heavy industry to come out of Saudi Arabia.
