On 27 July 2025 Bahrain's Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) issued a national policy for the use of artificial intelligence.
What was announced
- It rests on four pillars: legal compliance, adoption, public awareness and education, and cooperation.
- It ties AI use to Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law, its law on state documents and its Open Data Policy.
- Bahrain also adopted the GCC Guiding Manual on AI Ethics.
Our take
The GCC ethics manual is a shared baseline across the Gulf. If you sell AI products in more than one GCC country, designing to it from the start saves rework later. It lines up with how we already build: human review of anything customer-facing, and every automated step logged.
