Qai and MEEZA bring AI compute under Qatari jurisdiction

Qai, Qatar's national AI company, announced in early October 2026 that it is hosting high-performance GPU infrastructure in a MEEZA data centre in Qatar, with MEEZA handling the operations.

What was announced

  • MEEZA provides managed services for the deployment: operations, monitoring and lifecycle management.
  • The facility is in Qatar, Tier III and ISO 27001 certified.
  • The service targets organisations that need to run AI under Qatari jurisdiction and within national data protection and cybersecurity rules.
  • It is described as an initial deployment. GPU models, quantities and prices were not disclosed.

Our take

Data residency is one of the first questions government and regulated clients ask about AI. A local, managed GPU option gives them an answer that doesn't depend on a data centre abroad. It's worth comparing on price and capability once the details are public.
